I just recieved my spring Cabellas and Bass Pro catalogs and I noticed new jointed Shad Raps. Is this going to be the hot new lure of 2002, or will it be another Risto Rap?? It seems that every year the hot lure is something I don't have. Maybe that is why I now have more crankbaits than Gander Mountain.

Has anyone ever used the jointed Shad Rap? Does it work well??

Thanks

Mike

I have never used it but I think it may be another risto rap. To me it looks A LOT like a sparkle-tail. We'll see, but I won't buy any:)

The walleye's in North Dakota seem to like them.

Extremely active bait, not very deep diving, but its definitely not going to blend in in a school of bait fish. Personally I think they would be great around aggressive fish, most bites are probably going to be what I call the "what in heck is that" category. If they will hit a hot'n tot chances are they will hit a jointed shad rap. Probably worth having a couple in the box to put out when the bite is agressive, not worth stocking up on them but worth having atleast a few in my mind.
