This camp is scheduled on Mille Lacs while three tournaments are taking place: The Cabela's National Team Championship, the MWC and the Minnesota Walleye Trail. There will be somewhere between 300 and 500 tournament boats on the lake.

Hi Pat,
In regards to your quesion. Our Walleye Central schedule for the May Camp Walleye has had the dates of May 16-19 since early last fall. We were tentatively scheduled to be at Devil's Lake during that time period but had made the change (in house) prior to the MWC announcement to change from Big Stone to Mille Lacs. I received a "FYI" phone call from the MWC that they would be announcing the change of location for the May tourney. I informed them during that phone call that we had already booked to be based at the Izatys Resort at Mille Lacs the 16-19.
I personally have 6 years of Walleye Tournament organizational knowledge and experience, both Scott and John have fished the Walleye Circuit for many years and a wide range of circuits. We are aware of the three tournaments running at the same time that Camp Walleye will be at Mille Lacs. However, we are fully confident that there is plenty of room for all anglers on the lake.
Since our camp is based at Izatys, our participants will have use of their marina for launching and docking their boats. Walleye Central is excited to give anglers the opportunity to learn the many techniquies needed from our Camp Pro's who know how to fish such a large body of water.
FYI: Big Stone Lake is a lot smaller and I personally know that it is able to handle over 700 boats on the opening SD fishing weekend which is 2 weeks prior to MN opener.(as executive director for the
Big Stone Chamber we needed numbers to obtain funding for our tourism promotions)
If anyone has any questions about the Lake Mille Lacs Camp Walleye or the other 5 camp locations, please call me at 952-949-1109, email me at sonja@walleyecentral.com or post questions on the discussion page.
Thanks again Pat for the question and utilizing Walleye Central for your concerns.
