I have a manufactures converter outfit that converts your permanent fish finder unit to a portable. I bought it from Cabelas 2 years ago for $165.00 and ended up buying a FL-8 ice combo anyway. I used my Eagle Magna fish finder with it, but I suspect it takes any of the standard Eagle unit plug-ins. The unit is compact and has a carrying handle. The two 6 volt batteries, which supply power are tucked away inside the cae and the finder is attached on the outside with your exsisting units locking knobs/rubber washers. I also has an aluminum colapsable/adjustable solid bar for the transducer that is tucked away nicely onto the unit. This was for holding the transducer styraight down the ice hole. Anyway, I'm selling her for $70.00/I ship. I'll E-mail anybody with a picture of this unit if they are interested.
