Depends on your defintion of "out". I don't beleive when you watch the TV shows starting today that you will see Al or James. There won't be a Lindner in a segement for the first time ever. Al and Ron plus James and Dawn are starting a new venture that we'll probably see next season. Many changes have taken place at In-Fisherman since Primedia has taken over. It's not a family owned company now, like it or not.
Genio in duluth:(

Guys don't worry, you can't keep the Linder's down. I have heard some good things about what they are planning. They are simply the BEST!!!!!!!! just look forward to the day when they are on t.v. again, with fresh new stuff.

Although Ron and now Al may have opted to retire from In-Fisherman it is hard to believe they will stay too far out of the light. There version of retirement may still be twice as active as most of us are on a given day?
As for the new In-Fisherman not being a family I think that is not a fair and accurate statement. They are a big family over there and they still emulate and promote strong family values. The staff work very hard to bring the best freshwater multi species angling information available to anglers in a timely fashion. I think they do it well and they set the standard that others shoot for.
As with any organization when there is change or transition you will see a few bumps, just look at the huge change in technology over the past 10 years, that alone is a huge chalenge.
I have faith that with the staff they have they will remain the best far into the future and grow with the changes placed in front of them.

Are you sure it was a new program? When did Al actually retire? Maybe there will be new shows through this season yet? Anybody know for sure?

I agree with you Eddie. I started buying In Fisherman again last summer and like what I have read. I especailly enjoy anything Doug Stange or Matt Straw write.

You bet-ch-ya!
Doug Stange has always been very good but I do think he is better then ever now. Matt same deal, great articles, just getting better. Mr. Hoffman, Jeff Simpson, and Cory Schmidt have a style of there own that always makes for great reading, they all do a great job.
If I missed anyone I am sorry, I have a poor memory for.....Ahhhh... what's that called again..............ah........names, ya names....that's it.

Yea Eddy, I have read that article before but had forgotten the specifics of it. It sounds like his contract was done in 2001. I don't know what MNJIMCARP saw on OLN but it couldn't have been a new show...or was it????
The show that was on OLN was one that was a rerun from a couple of yrs ago.

Yes- Al announced his resignaton last May or June that was to be effective December 2001. There were news articles on the announcment. He had filmed his last shows on In-Fish during the summer. He was planning to begin his new television venture in spring of 2002. The new venture will have a Christian tone in his filming. Whatever he does, he will try to educate the people about fishing.
