I was out of town and stopped in a Gander Mountain. The guy said he heard that Michigan Stinger was going out of business. Does anyone know about this? It does not sound right to me. They were changing their paint etc. and still seem to be doing a lot of promo.

I really doubt that.
From looking at your post, I thought you were asking about advice on stinger hooks. Maybe you should have made your point clearer, judging from the lack of responses.
Just a little tip, when I post, I try to make sure people know right away what its about.
have a good one!

Advance Tackle aka Michigan Stinger is definitely NOT going out of business. I was just up to their place in northern Michigan playing with new colors and patterns and making plans for doing the wholesale shows in New York and Sandusky in a couple weeks. The new paint system is working great, and Mike and Rob are painting their little hearts out trying to keep up with the orders piling in already including the new ones to Gander Mountain this week.
I don't know which Gander Mountain gave you this misinformation, but they were wrong. Cyril Hill is a great addition to Gander Mountain. I know that he will straighten out their fishing departments as they are woefully mismanaged. Yes, I am on Stinger's prostaff, so this info is valid.

Thanks for the good news about The Michigan Stingers. Perchjerker you were right about the way to describe. I thought I hurt some feelings since this company and bait have been so good to this group.
Perchjerker,If you come back to this post can I send you my e-mail for that bait depth chart that you had out about a month ago. I metioned to you that I was in the middle of changing to a new system and now have a new address. Thanks for all the work on that as noted by many others.

No offense taken, only a fool does not listen to constructive advice.
The funny thing is that I have fished small lakes and Canada and until recently, only fished Erie a little. It took me half the summer to figure out what you guys were talking about on the radio. I thought that a stinger was that trail hook you put on when they were bitting light. So if anyone should have described it better, it is me.
It was good to hear the positive response for Michigan Stinger from a guy who knows. With times the way they are, no business needs false rumors.
Perchjerker I'll e-mail in just a few minutes. Thanks again.

Perchjerker,
Is your depth chart something different that the "Precision Trolling" curves? Thanks.
Atomic Eye -- "Gone Fission!" or is that "Fish-on?"

Smalleye,
Unless Frank changed his plans, I don't believe he's doing the Pittsburg sport show this year. Give him a call on 800 473-1748.
