Planning a Summer vacation to Cedar Point with the family. I will be down there over the 4th of July. I have a 17 ft. sportoller that can handle 2-3 ft. waves. Are there many eyes in the bay this time of year or would I have to go on the Big Lake? I fish the saginaw bay alot during the summer, mainly with tots. Do the tots works as well down as they do up here? Also does the ODNR have a 3 day out of state fishing license or just daily? Thanks Terry!
There is a 3 day license, and yes the tots do work decent here. the best fishin then is closer to vermilion, and lorain at thet time of year though. give me a call when or before you come to the area and i will tell you where the action is then. good luck and good fishin.

Terry,
Less than a half hour drive from Cedar Point. Den will give you the straight scoop. His number at the shop if you don't have it is 888 855 9032.
Good Luck,
Steve

The fish may run smaller, but the Western Basin is usually hot at that time of year -- from Kelleys west -- launch ramps 25 to 45 minutes the other way :-).

In my opinion Erie is great. My buddy and I have been going to Sandusky for about 7 years now. With the exception of the first 2 years, We have yet failed to catch are daily limit every day. We love it and will continue to go every year. I can give you some spots to try. In the bay, the rock pile. Off of Kelley's Island there are some spots. There’s a hump down by the town of Huron. The cross by Cedar Point. I even have some GPS coordinates from last year. We finally bought a GPS. If you would like, email me at walipro1@home.com.
