What is worth more - the original cardboard box for my Lowrance Green box flasher sonar unit or the sonar unit? The cardboard box is in A++ condition. I've read that record album covers are often worth more than the records because they are more rare in prime condition. Is the same true in this case? Thanks.

here in north east ohio ,I go to alot of auctions and you can buy those for 5 to 10bucks .box don't seem to make a diff .hope this is of some help .jim . strange what one thing is worth compared to another. I see stuff I would not take to the dump and it brings big money .

BH,

Thanks.

It doesn't sound like I should use my original box or the sonar for more than Xmas memorabilia around the tree or a future fishing bar & grill that I might open.

My dad-in-law sold his working green box for $10 at an auction. I thought that was way too low. But, hey, if you live in an area where fishing is a major past time and people are having estate sales, one can do quite well.

They've been fetching from $10 - $50 on eBay, depending upon the condition they're in. Not sure how much, if any, extra the box adds to the value, as the unit that went for $50 was in like new condition while the box was only fair.

Drop me a line before you head this way & maybe I can provide you some useful info or ? The NM waters I fish are under severe constraints because of an extended drought.

I hope your health problems cleared up? Sorry to hear about that.
