I personally find it ironic that in the past couple of days there are some health related issues being posted. Thats good.

It was exactly one year ago today that I received a phone call telling me that a good fishing buddy for over 20 years had dropped dead from a sudden, massive heart attack while brusing his teeth that morning.

He was 46 years old, thin, in apparently good health with no major bad habits. The autopsy found a congenital heart defect and his heart had basically split open.

I guess all I want to say is that most of us should be taking better care of ourselves. There was not much he could have done, if anything, to prevent this little time bomb from going off, but most of us have the opportunity to improve our health and for the sake of our families, if not ourselves, we should try. When I think about how I miss him, I try to imagine how tough it is on his family.

We had many good times together and I have only one regret... I never told him thanks for being a friend. He was a good one.

Fish and live like there's no tomorrow. You never know.

MK: You know you are right!!! I'm 63 and as you age other thing seem to go haywire. I retired in 2000 and decided to go fishing and play with my ham radio. You never know what's in store, so I live each day to it's fullest. Even with todays advanced medical technology, unless you live in the Doctors office, you never know what may be in store. Live with moderation, but enjoy each day as if were your last. Good Luck AND ENJOY LIFE....Kaz

Two years ago yesterday I lost my first fishing buddy. My Grandfather. He would have been 79 on the 3rd of this month. I still miss him. Although we spent more time hunting, he was the first one who took me fishing. He didn't fish in freshwater, but he would still take me fishing and go walking around. That is why Grandparents are great.

Thanks Gramps!
