I aam going fishing this weekend for the opener and would appreciate info on how deep to fish and what to use.

First, I would try real shallow, casting a jig/minnow towards shore. A couple days ago, I caught walleye in 2-4 ft. of water using a Northland Whistler Jig and minnow. This type of fishing is my favorite! If its a bright sunny day, go a little deeper, maybe 10-15 ft. or more.
