I have two older jiffy augers and I do not know how old they are. Mine have a single handle. They cut holes very well except they kick back once in awile and they spill gas out the cap. This can be irratating and it's not much fun to wash your hands after every hole. The older ones do not have a blade that can be sharpened very easily either. I had my engine gone over by a repair shop and the cost was minimal I would try to get one a little newer. (two handles) If I can be of any help. tlackey@ticon.net

You might contact Jiffy about a two-handle replacement kit. My wife bought me an older used Jiffy with one handle as a gift about eight years ago. The thing didn't run so well and when I called Jiffy with some questions they offered to send me the handle replacement kit.

The auger is a good one. I know several guys with newer augers of other brands that would gladly trade with me.

I would not pay more than $100.00 for a used auger, unless it really looked good. My buddy and I checked the local classified ads, and went to look at quite a few. Bought a jiffy for $100.00. The most expensive ones were asking $150.00.

That old single handle one is at least15+ years old. I would advise putting the double handle kit on it if you can still get them. Will
save you a badly sprained wrist or worse, I know.

Good luck
