I'm writing a magazine piece about NHL/walleye angler Mike Peluso. Many of you seem to be fans and follow his exploits. If any of you know him fairly well or have fished with him, could you please e-mail me with any info? I'd appreciate any insight into him.

I have known Mike for a long time. He is one of the most dedicated anglers/hockey people I have ever seen! He used to say he was going to do what he is doing when he was 6 years old trailing his Dad at the hockey rinks in Bismarck. It will take you all of a minute to see what kind of person he is when you meet him in person. Very caring, and he would give you his shirt off of his back if you needed it. I haven't had the chance to fish with him, but if you ask people around the Bismarck area who is the best Missouri River angler, his name will come up right away. Most of the local tournaments have made rules to keep him from fishing them because he usually wins them. I know he was going to fish this fall in a tournament and the people who ran the thing asked him if he would step away since he had one it the last 3 times. Mike ws a good sport and let the others fish and showed up to the weigh ins to talk to people. I thought it was pretty funny that they wouldn't let him fish. Well, I am sure you will get some more posts here so I will eave it at this. Have fun, Jon from ND.

Went to school with Mike and played hockey with him at UMD. He was always doing both, in fact he used to have a fish house set up outside Duluth all 4 years. He would head out fishing after practice and games. It was great because the boys in the locker room used to put names on the board to go with him. He only had room for another guy so we had to pick a day. He was also a great teammate! Dizzy
