Yes , I signed the petition . Thanks for the heads up .
To really understand the mind set of the anti's , go to the following web sites:
animalliberationfront.com
guerrillanews.com
Both sites call for terrorist actions against American Sportsmen

If you go to the link, it will basicly describe what the commercial was about. Trying to get sales by leaning towards PETA and such hopefully will backfire.

Hard to sign something blindly without first seeing the commercial. What was said or stated during the commercial? If it is indeed an ad for anti's, I'd sign without hesitation.

Jerry,

Seen yr post and I too was hesitant to sign a petition as I did not see the commercial. So I checked PETA's website and it is for real! PETA is praising Daimler/Chrysler/Jeep for airing this commercial and urging their membership to write and thank them (under their Action/Alerts section).

The link that Fish On provides gives a description of the commercial in addition to where to sign. I encourage everyone to check this out and sign on behalf of the Sportsmen of America.

Thanks,
Tony

#8075 Here! I am appalled by this political bull....They are only shooting themselves in the foot anyway as most SUV and truck owners are outdoorsman in some way shape or form.

Hunting season must be slow if everyone is so upset about this commercial. I understand the reasons for most of these comments but I don't think Daimler/Chrysler is really going to be impacted one way or another. The number of people who this actually "offends" is very very small compared to their sales figures. I think its great everyone is voicing their opinions on the matter, but I believe it is very unrealistic to believe this will make a dent in their bottom line.
Not trying to start a fight, just figured there were better things to worry about.

Tom, I'm the one who said we need to lighten up and not get so upset over everything. I did not by any means agree with the commercial, but I did find it humorous. Yes, I will sign the petition even though I am the proud owner of a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Will it do any good ?? Probably not, but we (hunters and fishers) need to heard louder than the PETA jerks.

I couldn't agree more, until the appology is advertised they don't have an opportunity to see my money.

I'll protest by never buying a Jeep.

Most American sportsmen (hunters and fishermen) I know drive Chevy, GMC, Ford, or Dodge trucks anyway. Jeep only makes little SUV's for the Yuppy market. Yuppies are usually looking for some political cause to support that they know very little about. This is probably why Jeep is targeting them in the add.

i was wondering if it was going to come to this. i have owned 9 jeeps in the past 26 years and driven them to countless walleye havens. my old wagoneer is now a trademark of me. so does this mean my tires will slashed while at the boat ramp? i too disagree with the ad perception,
but come on....jeep owners can't be faulted for some marketing blunder by jeep. or at least i hope not!

s.f.,

Don't worry, no one will fault the jeep owners (were the ones sold out); only the manufacturer. I for one still drive a Cherokee until I can get in a position to get rid of it (hello Ford or GMC) and I will not worry about slashed tires. The anti's like PETA do this kind of terrorist thing; not true & honesty Sportsmen. We are too classy and upstanding for that kind of behavior!
