View Full Version : Fish Finder Acting Up
I currently have a Furuno 6000 on my boat which
is 12 years old. Lately it has been going blank
and you have to shut it off and then back on and it runs Ok for awhile. It started alst year and seems to be getting worse. Anyone have any thoughts on what may be going on? After 12yrs
maybe its just trying to give up. Any input
is appreciated.
Thanks, Tim
Three choices.
1. Endure and have a unit partially working.
2. Get this one fixed.
3. Buy a new unit.
After 12 years, some of the new displays, and features are very nice. A 12 year old unit is not worth very much, so it really only makes sense to pick up a new unit.
Take care

I also own a 12 year old Furano and hope this is not a sign of things to come. Let me know what the outcome is if you contact the factory.
I had a similar problem ,when i was using my electric motor and would change speeds it would
draw more power from my battery and my depth finder would shut off and come back on, i found it was my battery running out of life, may want to check how old your battery is and how much charge its holding, before you send your unit in to fixed.

I had a similar problem with my Eagle Ultra. It turned out to be a bad conection. I'm not familiar with your type , but mine has two conectors in the back, the kind with a few pins and holes. One of the holes had some corsion in it and would only make contact part time. I used some electrical contact cleaner and a large sewing needle to scrape it and clean it up. Works fine, GOOD LUCK.
