I use 1 15ft leader on the bottom and 1 30ft leader on the top. I use 25# K-58 mono for making the leaders. If you need more info e-mail me at newslettereditor@saginawbaywalleyeclub.com

I use 20# Mason hard type leader materal in 20 and 40 foot lengths.
You want a mono that is stiff and that has a lot of "memory" in it.
It has to coil on the bottom of the boat when you are pulling in a fish. If it is to "soft" your line will constently tangle up.

i use 15' on bottom and 30' on top. you can also use 20' and 40'. every body has their own system but those are the most popular lengths. usually the top lead is double the bottom lead. you can also use a 3' to 4' lead (kicker)off the top of your weight (law permitting). the best leader material, after years of trying different material, is Mason Leader. Hope this helps.

15 - 30 and 20 -40 are very common and good all around leader lengths to use. I've found at times using as short as 5 and 10 foot combos when the water is really dirty has help put a few more fish in the boat. Possibly letting the fish key in on the noise of the weight. Also the shorter leads work better if your running spoons. As far as strengh I use 20 or 25 pound XT depending on the bottom content. When we run 3 leads it's usually 10 - 20 - 40. Hutch
