Boy is this weather bizar! I was working in Duluth last week and it was 40 their! Got home friday had this urge to back up to the third stall hook the boat up and go fishing at Pool 4. If I had not made prior commitments I would of. I have not even pulled the snowmobiles off the trailer.

I gotta agree with ya More!
Still waiting for safe (for me) ice here in the motor city. Not doing my backyard ice rink much good, either! Seems the older we get, the warmer the winters are averaging. It almost hit 50 here last week. About the only good thing is maybe the ice wont take as long to leave this spring!

I heard a story that the DNR here chased people off Millacs last week because the ice started to break up! I was supposed to go up fishing this weekend. I feel sorry for the resort owners no ice fishing nor snowmobiling income.

We're having our share of weird weather here in Montana as well. Last week on Tuesday, January 8th they had a high of 63 deg. in Glasgow Montana in the eastern part of the state. This is at the East end of Ft.Peck. We had a high of 48 here in Missoula that same day and Havre(which is located in an area known as the High Line part of the state in North Central MT near the Canadian border, this area is a regular for being very cold and windy this time of year) had a high of 59 and a low of 50 that day. Go Figure!!! If we can't have ice, give us spring.... RJ in Montana..

I hate to rub it in, but I was on 4 this weekend. No quality fish, but a quality day none the less. We probably boated around 50 fish. Not the quality I experienced before xmas though. I'm not complaining, I'll take any day on the river in January!!

Hey waterfowler-what are you doing over here? Anyway-nicer fish coming on Pool 2 at the Airport. Not the same numbers-but the average fish are 18-21". We boated 12 over 16" in under 3 hours on Saturday and about a dozen smaller ones.

Daveb,
That is better numbers and size than we did on pool 4 saturday. We didn't catch many and the ones we did catch were dinks. Waterfowler must have been the exception because I didn't see the usual numbers being caught at the Y or the dam. They were biting really short...should have used a stinger. What did you get your fish on? Cranks?
