My apologies on the post saying I didn't know of any sale at Gander Mountain. I work part time in the fishing deptand the last day I worked was Sat. the 12th. I walk in this morning and bingo, all Usl ice shanties are $100 off,Lazer ice augers $39.99 (same as Moras were Sat) and all ice rod combo's are 20% off. This is a unadvertised special.
Again, sorry for jumping the gun with bad info.

Dinky:

Why doesn't Gander Mountain stock Reef Runners? I think they are missing a great selling item.

Dink;

They don't stock some of the products they should because often times they have a "gum popper" in an office ordering fishing equipment that has never been fishing before.

Typically it's because the buyers have a conflict with the companies like reef runner or one of the companies policies. One example is Jiffy, we didn't sell them last year because Jiffy wouldn't buy back the backstock at the end of the season. I personally think that personal emotions can dictate what get's purchased for resale. I've cried all the way as high as I can to try and get reef runners on our shelves. I can get them at Holiday stores, but not Gander.... Same owner in case you were wondering.

Sometimes it's company pressure. It seems once Northland comes in they say; "if you want to sell my product, there can be no other!" Gander use to sell several different brands of jigs, but since Northland came in it's only theirs. And they're higher priced.

I was at Gander today and all ice fishing lures were 25% off as well as they had a 10" Lazer 3 HP ice auger for 239$ which is dirt cheap.
I stocked up on some of the Famous Chubby Darter by Salmo and I will be trying them this week around here and next weekend on the pond.
See ya then.

Reef Runners just starting to come in now at Niles store. We didn't carry them before,but if you complain enough and get loud enough some one finally listens. Probably have full product line by mid Feb.

Does Gander Mt. Sell online or mail order any more, I though Cableas bought them out, maybe out of the mail order business?

Gander Mountain sold it's mail order catalog business to cabelas about 6 years ago. They have no ties with Cabelas being they are competitors. Basically they bought your name if you had received Gander Mountain Catalogs in the past. A lot of people think that they are the same company. Gander Mountain is owned by Holiday Companies in Minnesota, they also have Sporting Goods and Supermarkets, and Gas Station Mini Mart type deals...

didn't get many because most of the stock were in wisconsin stores.
I was lucky to have some shipped in for the locals...

Contact the Store Director, and request that they carry more Reef Runner colors, and you will probably get them.

Meijer gives the store directors, and managers leeway in deciding what each store should have. A few phone calls could be all that's needed to get results!
