First of all, personally I don't think a plastic lip hot'n tot can even claim to be in the same realm as the originals. The metal lip gave it a lil extra sum sum that the plastic just can't give to the bait. Secondly, as I would wager you're aware the colors for the new hot'n tots are substantially less then they originals. If you still want to add a collection of the lures try to match the patterns to lures you already own and know work. The hot'n tot is my most productive crank and I for one will not buy any of the new ones. My $.02.

I have ran these New and Old side by side and they (to me) don't even compare to the old ones. Personally I believe they should rename the new ones because they are NOT hot n tots to me. Have to admit I do like some of the colors but won't be buying any more. Just my 2 cents worth.

I found, and bought a bunch of the old tots today. Whether the new one turns out to be a productive lure or not-- it isn't going to be the same lure. Planning to try the side-by-side test to see the action of the new tot compared to the original.

I just don't get it!! With so many unproductive cranks on the market, why change one that works. Maybe this is some creative marketing plan? Remember Coca Cola Classic? I can see it now...the Hot n Tot Classic...$8.99...lol!

Time to stock up!!!!

There is only one answer to this. The good old dollar. I believe that Normark took over Storm to eliminate their competition. Last year they marketed a very high priced and over rated lure. The Taildancer. This year its the jointed Shad Rap. They've cheapened their best lure, The Rapala, and still raised the price. The new Hot N Tots in my opinion are a waste. The action cant compare to the original, but they boast about improving it. I've been seeing ads saying that us fishermen demanded that they make their improvements. They have done this to the entire line of Storm lures. I've tried on many occasions to call them and express my feelings and have yet to talk to a human. Make up your own minds about Normark, but I for one will never buy another one of their products. Larry
