Does anyone have any experience with those "sunshowers" that are sold in camping magazines? I am flying into northern Ontario this summer and was thinking about getting one.

Go for it! I absolutely love mine! I have had one for a number of years now and I have loaned it to friends that end up buying one on their return. If there is not enough sun or the temps are too low I heat water on the stove and pour it into cold water in the bag to make a nice WARM shower. Don't plan on gettting two or three people showered on one fill-up, you'll use the whole thing because it just feels so dang nice when out in the middle of nowhere!! Sunshower also sells an enclosure (shower stall) that is nice as well.

Do yourself a favor, though. I took a 100 ft section of polypropelene (sp?) rope (the floating kind). Cut it in half and put a pulley on one end, to throw over tree limbs, etc. The other half I tied to a reinforced carry-bar on the Sunshower so that the tag end of the rope could be placed through the pulley and hoisted up to the limb, or whatever you threw the other rope section over. Hoist the Sunshower up and you're set. Works GREAT!! I used a wood dowel to reinforce the bar on the bag.

Is there a certain brand you recommend? Price? Thanks for the help.

newguy,

This is the one I have:

www.campmor.com/webapp/commerce/command/ProductDisplay?prmenbr=226&prrfnbr=13513

It's around 4 gallons and plenty heavy enough when you start throwing it around! As you can see, the brand name is "Sunshower". You will NOT regret your investment, trust me, it is one of the better things I have bought over the years.
