i am installing a 3 bank on board charger in my new 2001 sylvan adventurer. do i need to install a small cooling fan, or am i just needlessly worrying? the item costs almost 300.00 and i dont want to burn it up prematurely.

you most likely will have cord the running into the compartment where the charger is mounted. that is enough to keep things from problems. i personally don't know of any heat related problems that would merit a fan.

I installed a two bank charger in my Sylvan last May and the instructions specifically stated that some ventilation is required if it is mounted in an enclosed area. Mine is behind a door, under the console on the passenger side; I always leave that door open when charging. Jigger

I have a 3 bank charger installed in a step-up to the bow. I just
take the lid off when charging at night or in the winter. There haven't been any problems for 6 years.
