View Full Version : Question on Hot-n-Tots........
Kind of new at the game guys....What color patterns appear to be the most popular as well as most productive. Are these lures meant to be trolled, cast, or both? Thanks.........Alan

You probably didn't get many responses because you didn't list where you fish and the fact these lures work just at about everything - casting, trolling, etc. Color patterns are depicted mainly in regions you fish.

I troll with Hot-n-tots on Lake Erie. My most productive color is green on top and silver on the bottom. I dont usually troll these lures until the water temp has risen quite a bit.
Hope this helps

Tots can be casted, but are mostly a trolling lure. I like fire tiger pattern, since it catches a large percentage of my walleyes. Always rig it with a plain snap, not a snap swivel for best action. Best speed seems to be around 2.0 to 2.5 for best lure performance. You can run a plain swivel 3ft. up the line to keep weeds away from the lure and reduce any line twist.
