I fish on Lake Erie and have a Lund 1650 Rebel. I have limited space and am tired of digging leaders out or my box or taking everything apart at the end of the day. I was going to try to rig my dipsies with clips somehow this season so i can leave my leaders tied (tied to the braid rather that there being a swivel)to the braided line. Then I could just pop my dipsys or boards on and off as needed.
Any advice on this? Also I always fish alone so I am looking for some Roemer Liberators. Anyone know where I can get these?
Thanks,
Jess

Jess,
I have a large snap tied on to the end of the main line (power pro) and i just reel that up till its tight againts the guide on end of rod and store the rods. I leave the leader on the dipsy, open up the snap and wind it around the dipsy then close the snap and store them that way. works for me.

Jess,
Here's the way we do it. On the end of my main line which is a braided line I have a large snapswivel. This is connected to the dipsey. My leaders are 6 foot pure florocarbon at least 20# test. Either Seaguar or P-Line leader material. My leaders have a ballbearing snapswivel on one end and a large snap on the other. I use the same leaders when running dipseys or jetdivers and I also use the leaders when pulling crankbaits off of boards (my board rods also have braided line). If pulling spoons behind the jet/dipsey the snapswivel end is attached to the spoon. When pulling stickbaits, cranks the snap only end is attached to the lure. You could disconnect the dipsey/jet if desired but it's not necessary. This part is easier once you see it but I'll try and explain.
Reel the dipsey up to where it is out the distance from the rod tip to the reel. Take your lure (or just the snap) and hook it around the first or second line guide counting from the reel end. Not through the guide itself but the part that connects the guide to the rod. Now pull the leader tight from the lure end and begin wrapping the leader around the reeluntilo you get it snugged up. Then get some short velcro straps and snug this down around the reel handle (the part above the reel). Once you get the hang of it it is easy and your rods will be ready to go tangle free. Works even better when you have a snubber attached. Wrap the snubber around the reel with some tension. If you go to the boat show in Cleveland look for Jim Stedke/ETT at the Norton Marine booth or better yet catch his seminar. Also look for Den. They can show you what I'm talking about. If you don't see them - I think you are the Jess that lives by Davis Besse. I'll show you once my boat is in the water in late March or early April. I'm at Green Cove.
Good Luck,
Steve
