I own a 310 now and thinking of upgrading. I use it for trolling and drifting. The problem that I have with it is it won't upgrade until I reach around 2.2 miles per hour and what I mean by that is if I'm going north and turn the boat east the screen won't show that until I run the boat up to 2.2 GPS speed thats alright part of the time if a big eye is following me and when I speed up he takes it. I am running the 310 in the trackup mode and I have the pinning turned off an I have the update set at one second I normaly troll around 1.5 to 1.8. I would like to stay with lowarance but if you guys know of a different gps that would do a better job I sure woulk look at it. P.S. I could realy use some help on this thanks Eyeman
when it's too foggy to watch the trees, i use the same unit. as i read your post, i assumed it was the pinning feature. and i still think it might be, even though you think you have it turned off. i think it's a great unit. very simple to run and read...something i surely need.
customer service at lowrance, 800-324-0045, might help. i always ask
gary parsons...where are you, mr. parsons?
peluso, shoot the puck!
the rest, set the hook !

Eyeman:
When slow trolling or drifting, try turning the update rate up to about 3-5 seconds. When moving slow and using an "instant"update the GPS antenna does not move enough between updates to register which causes your problem. I use this unit on the bow of my boat and have been extremely happy with it. Try this and let us know if it helps.
