OK- we got in a little "discussion" today while out ice fishing about the relative popularity of the various brands. Sorry, I couldn't include them all. JC

Being able to vote once doesn't work. I have an Eagle flasher on the bowmount, an Eagle LCD on the dash, and a Vexilar flasher at the stern. That should be 2 votes for Eagle, one for Vexilar (not offered as a choice).

I can't believe the Vexilar is not a choice. LC507 Edge is the best thing going.
No vote here.

I suppose you could also argue for the Genetron, the Furuno, the Sitex, the Zercom and so on and so on. There are too many to list on a single poll. For those of you that have another brand you could start your own poll with those as others.

I second that thought, I have used them all, and Edge2, in my opinion, out shines them all.

Are Hummingbirds that bad? That is all I have ever used, and had no problems.
Other than getting the transucer to read while running the boat at 25 mph or above. (but I thought that was due to the setting of the angle of the tranducer or the railings on the bottom of the boat creating turbulances).

Ditto. Got 2 Humminbird flashers (one for the 14' boat, one on the bowmount of the Pro-V) and an LMS-350 on the console of the Pro-V.
Anyone have any information on portables. Boat fishing, not ice fishing. Thanks

I have a HumminBird on my boat and a portable Eagle. The purchase prices were about the same but the Eagle is twice as good as the H-Bird. In my opinion, the Eagle seems to have better definition/separation and sensitivity

My sonar on the console is a Bottomline Tourney Master, with a Garmin on the bowmount trolling motor. I prefer the Garmin over the Bottomline, but the BL is on more often than not. Would I buy another Bottomline, never. I have owned an Eagle before, and would buy another or a Lowrance in a heartbeat!!!
