There is a thread running on the "Canada" forum regarding shore lunches and things folks do with/for them. If you would like to add your 2 cents - hop on over! Good topic on a cold day!

I fish with a group that has been in Canada for almost 40 years and we makes sanwiches etc and eat where ever we happen to be during the lunch hour. The feeling is that it takes too much time away from fishing, there are times that the bugs on shore are bad and so we tie the boats together and eat out in the middle of the lake and besides, we always have fish for supper anyway. This is really better on those rainy days.

I agree with you for the most part. We don't shore lunch every day and on those days that we don't we have sandwiches, too. Usually twice a week is a shore lunch. The thing is is that we really enjoy the shore lunch and like to do it up nicely when we do it.
