My wife and daugter will be with me on opener on Winnibigohish.I don't think they have the feel for jigging. So I'm thinking about pulling cranks when their with me. Do you guys think that if move out into deeper water (Away from the crowds)will I have much luck with cranks? Or do you have any better ideas? Thanks you in advance.

Hot- I'd try a crawler harness on the less experienced. They'll get bit and it's a "hang on to your rod" presentation they can handle. I remember my Dad did this for us as small kid's on the boat, and we would do pretty well.Of course you will be on worm duty. Use a rod holder for you, with a Lind rig,or a floating head. Also try to blow up your worm's.Sometime's in spring they run small.Maybe after that if you don't get a fish or 3 try some trolling.Rod holder's are a must. Good Luck;I'll see you on the water.
