I have taken to eliminating the dropper line on my spinner rigs, ie; nightcrawler harnessess. I use a small clip on the end of my main line, clip that to the sinker, and clip my harnessess also to the sinker. My question is, am i missing something not having the dropper?
I believe i compensate for the length of the dropper when i raise it off the bottom. It just seems like less hardware???

The trouble with your set up is two-fold. You loose the ability to maintain contact with the bottom without having to worry about hanging up. Also, in the event you do hang up, you are at greater risk of losing your whole set up. With a drop line, usually at a strength half of the main line, you can break off the weight without losing the rig itself.

I agree with bigfish. Also, I use bottom bouncers in LOW because of all the snags one can find. The bottom bouncers hook into a clevis and are easily changed if one wants to change weights on the spot and they pull out of that clevis (leaving the rig intact) if the bottom bouncer does snag. It is surprising how easy it is to set that bottom bouncer wire into a darn hole!!! ... lol.
