ok guys, I have a good one here. I'm new to walleye fishing but not new to fishing. I started fishing Lake Meredith,TX and I have found the little ones by the hundredes but I cant seem to catch a fish over 16 inches. The spawn was in late march, early april and the fish seem to be feeding heavly. Meredith is an old man made, canyon lake. Banks are steep and there is little moss in the lake. The deepest point is probally 70 feet but the average depth is 30feet. Rocky shorelines and sandy beaches account for most of the lake. Most of the mid lake is silty. The small fish are not far from there spawning grounds in 12-18 feet of water but where are the big ones and how do I catch them?

It's hard to say where these fish go with out knowing more about the lake. One area to check is the deep areas where these fish might suspend chasing baitfish such as shad. Try trolling,(if allowed) with crawler harness' or small shad body crankbaits. Set these at different depths and see if you can't pop a few of these better fish.
