I do alot of trolling for salmon in lake Michigan and was wondering if anyone had the the depths that 27 will do vs. using 18 up in bay du noc for walleyes?? Is there anyone who has the chart of what the two leadcore Depth differances are ? I would rather not waste time changeing all of the lead off my reels and was thinking that 27 would run at a much different depth than 18 Thanks Todd

Being that the diameter of the 27 lb leadcore is larger than the 18 lb leadcore, there will be more resistance with the 27 lb, which would mean the 18 lb will allow you to fish deeper with the same amount of line out as the 27 lb. As for advantages of 18 vs. 27, I've never used anything but 18 lb leadcore and have never had problems with it. Just make sure you check it for any kinks that might ocur. If you get a kink, I recommend to cut it off at the nearest full color and retie.
