Hi fellas I was hoping you guys could give me some insight into how to get started in big time walleye fishing. The main question I have is how to approach companies, about some sort of sponsorship. I am under the impression that you need to win before they will even look at you. I'm 26 years old, each year I have been fishing independent tourneys like the wave wackers and the merc classic. I just want to ease my way into the scene. Eventually I would like to fish a full circuit. I don't expect sponsors to give me very much. But when I go talk to companies who do I talk to? Would it be the owner, and what do you ask for? Also what could I do to help promote their products? Being as though I'm just starting out. Basically how do I sell myself? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

IF you are serious, spend the hundred bucks and get the past issues of this newsletter. Virtually everything you ever dreamed of wanting to know or should know is in here. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

I and others could try to answer your question, but I think this is by far the best answer for you. It's helped me understand the professional side of angling and I know it will help you too.
