What type line and what size line should I use for tying my own rigs? Shoud I use the quick change clevis or the standard? What size hooks? Any other tips on these rigs? I have never tied my own before but would like to do it this year. Some have told me Fireline others Mono, other Flurocarbon. Please point me in the right direction. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a pro, but have been tying my own rigs for awhile now!
What I like to use for line is 8-12 # Stren Magnathin. I use different strength line for many reasons(water clarity, structure, fish mood, etc). You can find all you need to make them at www.jannsnetcraft.com !
As for clevises, I use both quick-change and folded. If you want to make rigs you can change to adapt to a certain situation, use quick-change!
As for beads, blades, floats, or what ever else you want to use, the sky is the limit. You can get just about anything and everything to add to your rig! Many different sizes and colors are available!
You can get components other places too. You might try www.hagensfish.com or www.lakeland.com .
If you have any more questions or need some help you can email me at walleye4@charter.net .

Bronze,
The type of line I use all depends on what type of situation I am fishing. Lake Erie i will use 17Lb Vanish or FluroCarbon. Saginaw Bay I will use 20lb Fireline due to all the big catfish. When using bottom Bouncers in rivers and such I use 12 Maxima very strong nick abrasion line. In other open water areas I will use 12lb Vanish or the Cabelas FluroCarbon.
A trick that i have learned with a lake that has many northern pike and muskies is to use steel leader for the harnesses. I've done tournaments where everyother time i troll through a bed of weeds i get bit off. I threw one of those on and took the northern out of the bed caught walleye in there all day.

Bronzeback,I've tied up some of these rigs in the past and right now I use the vanish line, 14 or so # test. Also use the quick change clevises to allow me the flexability for blade color changes. I like to use #4 owner walleye hooks.
