Pro's & Lund 2150 Baron [Archive] - Walleye Message Central

I have recently purchased a Lund Baron 2150 O.B. and I have a couple of questions:

1) Over the past two years, I have been fishing several tournaments in both the RCL and PWT trails; my question is, how many touring Pro's are fishing this type of boat? What do you feel the Pro and Con's of this package is?

2) What type of Bow Mount Trolling Motor would you recommend, shaft length and thrust?

On a boat that size I would look to a 100+ pound thrust bow mount, either Minnkota Maxxum or Motorguide. These would be 36 volt so using them would be contingent on whether or not you have space available, I don't recall if that is the case with the Baron, stock. As for using this boat I in tournaments, I would think it would be great on the big water for trolling, however on rivers and smaller lake tourneys it may be a little deep. By this I am saying that it may draw too much water and could prevent you from getting into some of the shallower water.
