What type of knot do you use to tie leadcore line to mono?

Take the end of the lead-core line and push the covering back from the lead, about 3-4 inches, and break off the lead. Straighten out the sleeve and put a "start of a knot" (just an over hand twist) in the lead section of the lead-core line. Slip the mono line inside the end of the sleeve, all the way to the lead section. Then bring the loose knot back out the to the end of the sleeve, where it meets the mono, and cinch it down tight, making sure it is still on the sleeve part of the line.

It's that simple.

I see this explanation in two different ways. Can you be just a little more precise.

What part don't you understand? The "start of a knot"? That's just a loop with the tag end of the leadcore sleeve put through the loop just once...creating the "twist". Don't tighten it down yet, and make sure it is created over the lead part of the leadcore line and not on the empty sleeve part. Once the mono, or usually flourocarbon line, is inserted in the sleeve (up to the lead section), then bring the loose knot back out to the end of the sleeve/mono combo and tighten it down. Making sure it is tightend down on the sleeve and not past the end of the sleeve over the mono.

Does that explain it better? It's funny how something so simple to do, is so hard to explain in writing. ;-)

Hope this helped. If not, let me know and I'll try it again.
