Several years ago, the Team Walleye/USFA collapsed and started some litigation in Texas with Ranger. Team Walleye claimed that Ranger pulled out of an agreement to supply boats for their national championship and do other things that were generally not nice. This matter was in a Texas district court and was still going a couple years ago. Has anyone heard anything about the outcome of this litigation? I've never seen an announcement from Ranger and John Brett(?)hasn't made any appearences on this board in a very long time. If anyone is able to give us the short answer it'll save alot of research time in running this case down again.

The Team Walleye/John Brett fiasco has poured a lot of cold water on walleye tournament fishing. It would be good if this were resolved so a lot of anglers could move forward.

After a little checking: These folks are still fighting it out in Federal District Court in Sherman, Texas. Several trial dates have come and gone but they are currently scheduled for a jury trial to begin on March 1st at 9:00am. Anybody live around Sherman, Texas? I'll try and get some copies of the court filings to see if there are any real juicy details available for public consumption. Figure a trial and then an appeal, this case could go on for another 2 years...

I'm just wondering what will happen if let say the guy gets the 2 boats or what ever. Think he will try to start up again,or give the guys that owes money to there end of it? NO way,so this is a joke!

If he does win I would give him the 2 boats so that he would have to sell them and get taxed on the whole deal. There will be more Lawsuits if he does win by all the guys that got screwed by the whole thing. Bet these guys never here a thing from the old tour!
