Wow
Just looked on the site and I see that the Central Div. has like 65 teams signed up for the year already. There is still like 15 days to get in on the early birds. They could have well over 100 by the time some more regulars get in. This is a very good sign for the people that thought they needed some change in form of new locations! I hope they get like 150 early birds, it would be great to see the day that we would'nt have over 100 locals in each event.

I'm really geared up now!

Also,

The rooms in Winnebago are filling fast, there are a few music festivals the same weekend.

Great to see almost 70 Early Birds after two weeks, I hope to see over 100 as well.

JB

200 early birds plus. No problem, if we were talkin MWC central ( WI, IL, MI)and MWC west ( MN, ND, SD )split by the Mississippi River.
With the challenge system Spring Valley would be almost if not all MWC curcuit fishermen.

Dak's barley showed up at Big Stone! Why would they warrant there own state sites? You cant please everyone so you have to go with the states that SHOW.

Good luck you got the new Lowrance tour and the RCL league!

92 early bird teams as of this morning (Thursday 1/22).

83 MWC Central
9 MWC East

(Don't be too put off by only 9 early birds out East. We just need them to sign up for each tournament and a "circuit following" will happen over time. Our expectations are 75-100ish for East -- not full fields of 200.)

All in all, pretty exciting. 48 Central teams have picked up Saginaw Bay for the Challenge, too. Couple of MWC East teams picking up Spring Valley & Winnebago as Challenge tournaments, too.

One more week of early bird sign ups -- til Friday noon January 30th. Then...

Single tournament entries will be accepted as of Monday February 2nd at 8am. Teams should plan on faxing in entries THAT DAY if they are serious about wanting in. If we need to, we'll have a lottery if we get more entries on 2/2 than we have spots to fill.

Kristine

Great news with the turn outs so far! I'm wondering if this will be a true lottery or will some people hold spots because of there names or past history with the MWC? I'm very glad to see the numbers up this year, still don't see alot of the regulars yet! Hope we see at least 120 for the Central!

We could call in an Arthur Anderson auditor to stand-by and supervise our lottery process. There are some available that are really very reasonable in cost. I got a resume from one the other day...he's very experienced, worked on Enron for a lot of years. :-)

Kristine,

Will you accept entries dropped off at the MWC headquarters in Minnetonka on the morning of Feb 2nd. ? If so, what time will the office open?

Thanks in advance.

Sure -- we can accept them in person. The office opens at 8:00 am.

HA! While your making phone calls, maybe you can book Martha Stewart for the rules meeting. She can teach us how to tie bow knots.

84 teams for the Central with one week left! Good turnout so far! New sights seem to have some new teams entering (This is Good)! Looking to see some more new teams as well as the regulars! I think the new sights has done a good service to the MWC in getting new blood on the tour! No more same sight same time deal, its gonna be a great year for the MWC!

We have hit the century mark in early bird registrations for the MWC central, I think for the first time since the 1999 season. Great job Kristine & the MWC!! I'm betting we hit the 125 mark before the early bird entry deadline. That would only leave 75 entries per tournament to fill the fields. Should be a great year with new places & new faces, can't wait to get it going.

Wow -- we're at 100 early birds for MWC Central and 10 for MWC East for a total of 110. (As of 5pm tonight -- Monday night)

We're seeing 20% of the MWC Central teams as new teams. I agree, that's good -- very healthy for the Circuit. Of course, 80% are new for MWC East. We are expecting MWC East teams to be new.... But don't be too surprised by only ten at this time. They'll show up. They may not sign up as strong for early bird, but they'll sign up in April for the May tourney and June for the July tourney, etc. If we can get to 100ish for both of the New York tournaments, it will be a success! And will be 150 the next year and 200 in the third year. Then...in the fourth year you'll start seeing larger numbers of early birds.
