Now lets even the playing field the best we can. First off, only announce the date of the tournament. Don't give out the location until two days prior. Basically enough travel time to get to the location. This will help prevent pre tournament research. and of course there is NO PREFISH! Now hold your 2 or 3 day fishing tournament. The guy with the most weight after day three wins. He is the best walleye fisherman. He has beat the rest of the field on his own.
Actually this is still impossible. The darn guy that won only lives two blocks from the boat launch on the lake that held the tournament. He actually had a huge advantage since to kill time before the tournament he fished on his own lake every day up until it was announced as the tourny lake.
To help eliminate the home lake advantage we could supply the baits for the Pro's to use. Boats 1-40 get spinners(all the same color) and crawlers, boats 41-80 get crank baits(all the same colors), and boats 81-120 get jigs and plastic(all the same color). if you have mastered a body of water it probably means you have mastered a specific presentation that works well there. By supplying the baits we can possibly reduce this advantage.
