Maybe there are enough guys not paying their own entry fees...
so now this is no longer a concern. All I know is that if Jim
Kalkofen won't trust me to fish without paying first... Then I just can't, blindly trust the P.W.T. to do anything that is in my best
interest. IF THE P.W.T. PAYOUT WAS GOING TO BE ANY GOOD THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO PROMOTE IT!!!
Just my thoughts...

If you guys can't wait and need to know, call PWT and ask. Hear it straight form the horses mouth. What I heard they are working with a new sponsor. The payouts will be affected by the outcome of the negotiations. Maybe more cash. Everyone will just have to be patient.

Maybe they are working out the details of a pending 5 year sponsorship deal that will effect the payout in a positive way for you?
I don't think you will be disappointed. Have you called In-Fish and asked them? Those that have talked with them may know a little more than you for now. You may hear pretty soon.

They have a big sponsorship package in the works. It will affect many things including the payout. There was supposed to be a meeting or a signing of a contract the end of last week. It will be big if it happens. Hang tight.

The current PWT payout info for the '04 events was posted here on this board in the past 2 weeks. That being that the top ten payout is going up about 8 percent and 11th through 40th going up about 18 percent. No one has hidden anything from you or any other interested party. Instead of posting the official payout for '04 before this pending sponsorship deal went one way or the other, they chose to volunteer this info to anyone who asked. This effort by PWT should be plauded by all!
Just ask! Or follow this message board or the NPAA message board if you are a member and have questions or doubts.
By the way....Most anglers have NO CHOICE but to pay their own entry fees.

I Called

I called and got the same pep talk. But like was posted below on another post. The value of the boat they give away went up 8% suggested retail and the other of the top 10 will go up 8%. Well by my math the entry fee went up 18%. So where will the new money they are waiting for going to go. Looks like we are going to fish for our own money again.

Will it be like they did to us last year at the PWT Championship. Saying that we were going to get one thing, then being told at the meeting that we'd only get half as much.

The NPAA liaison committee met with PWT in early December and came away with a positive oulook in regard to the coming '04 PWT events.
I personally met for several hours with PWT before that and came away with confidence that they are working hard to insure BOTH the PWT and the ANGLERS welfare will flourish and grow in a positive direction. I truly feel that, finally, they realize that they need to focus more on how the ANGLERS need to be a major part of the equation inorder for the sport/industry to reach growth goals.

Steve are you trying to get on the payroll over at the P.W.T.?
Intentions are one thing...actions are another. The only fair way
to judge a person or organization is by their ACTIONS, not their stated intentions. That also applies to the N.P.A.A. PERIOD!

Are YOU willing to offer YOUR help to insure things get better for the anglers? If so....the NPAA "tournament liaison" committee is the place for you to be.....
It would be nice if you could let us know who you are. You can find my email addy in the NPAA directory or send me a message through this site for further discussion on your concerns. In which, by the way, are my concerns as well. Sounds like we're on the same side! lol No one is more concerned about the welfare of you and the world of competitive walleye anglers than me. I and a few others are working hard and spending many hours making attempts to insure our (your) sport grows to unprecedented heights. So ...settle down! lol lol

Ahhh, the human condition - no patience -
I appreciate those who are willing to get into the mix and work to keep things going forward - trusting in another human condition - doing what is best and right for the many to the best of their ability.
So my hats off to those individuals/groups/corporations who are willing to work the situations, not just talk about them.

Steve:
I thought you had to fish, a complete circut, or division, to qualify to be a member of the NPAA. How is, you are a member, when you don't fish tournaments? I read the rules, and you have not participated in a circut, that you can qualify for.
Now, circuts like the MWC, WWA, MWT,PWT, and many more qualify, but you did not fish any last yr.
Just my thought's, about rules of the NPAA,

Concerned,
If you have any questions regarding the NPAA please feel free to contact. Go to the NPAA website and inquire about the rules there, since you are a member. All of my contact information is available on the NPAA website. The NPAA website is the place to offer your suggestions, help out or ask questions regarding NPAA policy.
Thanks,
Kristin Landahl

Concerned,
You have a valid point. I surely should not, nor anyone else, be allowed to slide in this regard. However, that said, the member criteria rules ALSO allow a year away from competing before member (touring pro) status changes. I am officially entered in ALL six PWT events for the '04 season. So, therefore, I continue my current "touring pro" member eligibility.
Note: I did fish the entire '02 RCL schedule.
It would be nice if anyone who has a "concern" about me, sign their name. Thank you...
