This is a copy of what Kristine Houtman posted on the MWC website - just FYI for everyone!
Thought it might be a good idea to make a post re: the process for single tournament entries that will begin February 2nd at 8am.
Now...most will be faxing in their entry on February 2nd. That's fine. Please do not begin faxing until 8 am. It doesn't matter what time we receive a fax. 8am, noon, 5pm, 10pm up until Midnight! -- they will all be treated the same. On the morning of February 3rd we'll count how many entries we have for a tournament and determine if we can take all or not. If all, great, we'll enter them all. If not, we will take a lottery from the box from all the entries received 2/2/04.
Because we already have 124 early birds for MWC Central plus a couple of MWC East teams picking up their Challenge tournaments at either Spring Valley or 'Bago, we will not have as many spots available as in years past.
To that end, if you seriously want in, you really should fax in your entry on February 2nd.
Let's hypothetically say we have 120 Spring Valley spots filled between Central and East early birds. That leaves 100 spots for single tournament entries. If we get 95 entries on 2/2/04 they all get in. Then on 2/3/04 we will only have an inventory of 5 spots. If get 8 entries on 2/3/04 we will have to hold a lottery on 2/4/04 for the previous days receipts. Only five would be selected. Any entries received later would not get in. Any entries that were not selected during a lottery would be placed on a "waiting list" order should an opening occur.
Hope that helps for process. Our fax number is 952-936-9755.
We'd prefer that you email rather than call us to ask if your fax was received (it's so hard to take a hundred or more phone calls). And so you won't even have to do that -- we will post all received entries (fed ex packages, snail mail, faxes, etc.) on the MWC bulletin board that day so you can know that we have it in the box.
Save the phone calls for the folks that don't have email or website access.
Thanks for your patience. It will be a busy couple of days... but we appreciate your support of MWC and desire to fish it in 2004!
