Be all right Fuzzy. Thats what makes it interesting. As one post noted Starved Rock, Prue, Hennipen ramps are open. Fish are being caught. But need to be carefull early in the morning as there is some ice still coming down, but with the forcast the next couple of days in the 40-50 should be in good shape by the weekend.

Bob-
We wouldn't have it any other way would we?? It's all in good fun and something to enjoy and look forward to in the bleakish time of the year.
See ya on the flats.

Warrior -
No Sir, no red facial hair. But, plenty of standing out in crowds though! ;)
See you down on the secret spot across from the old secret spot that everyone knows about now.

jz - You must know that spot too!
Local Friday rains and snow melt could make for a nice chalky, milky, sloppy, mess this weekend.

I think the extra water is needed. The fish seem to bite a lot better with it being to the top of the bank's,and think of it this way that run off is just warming the water faster. Let's go get umm can't wait till it hits about 40-45. That's where the river is the best.
P.s I know that spot to!!!

High and steady with 3 or 4 plus inches of clarity and you are in for a happy, happy fun day! Pass the thermos of coffee!
Warrior - do you mean the secret spot down across from that 'thing' that is in the water or the up spot over by the stretch of rocks next to the field that has a tree in it? Or is it just the 'secret spot' down by all the other secret spots?

Lot's of debris and 2-4" visability, chocolae milk color and big tree's floating down. That's when the secret spot by that milk crate on the shore produces. That the third rock next to the firestone tire, and the one eyed beaver on the northwest shore line. That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!!

Fuzzy,
You mean that secret spot along the channel edge, by the gravelly bank, where the river makes an outside bend, next to the corn field? Yes I know that one too!

Thanks jz! - now the secret is out and everyone knows! I think that spot has a special sauger members only club - "no one under 4 pounds admitted". It must be some special pre-natal female sauger spa under there...Nothin but 23 to 25 inchers all day any (until tounrey day)!
Keep the net wet!

We weren't able to make the trip either...too many things going on that needed finishing around the homestead and then I got trapped within the inner circle of doubt for most of Saturday night.
We should be there Saturday if'n it ain't too mucked up - maybe we'll see you out there.

We couldn't make the trip this weekend. Went to the dr wednesday for a cough(accute bronchitis) and then picked up a nasty stomach flu (must have been during the dr visit). Friday was no picnic. Feeling a bit rosier today. Best to stay home and rest. Some buddies(non-tourney) just called and said the bite was 'decent', a few nice ones but mainly doinks. One boat(2 guys) had 13 and the other(3) had 7....but you know we can't believe what anyone anyone these days ;)
Said they fished the Peru holes all day.
Hope all that got out enjoyed the nice day and had better luck!
