Was using FL8 and towards end of the day, the colors became very muted. Could still read but just got darker. Is this a sign of a weak battery? Have used this battery for four seasons. What are the signs of a weak battery?

That would be correct. If you can keep your battery and FL8 warm before and during use it will last much longer. Of course if you're fishing outside that isn't easy. I carry an extra with at all times. Only another $25 and assures that I will always have juice. Another thing. If your not using a sealed type battery, I'd switch. The vented motorcyle type seems to boil off easier and doesn't last as long. You also need to make sure you recharge your battery ASAP after use. Letting it sit for even 12 hours will deplete your recharge capabilities.
