Downriver Walleye Federation meeting

I just joined for the DWF earlier this month, and have a question about tonight's meeting. I live about an hour away, and see that tonight's speaker will be discussing the American Heritage River status of the Detroit River. While this is an important topic, it doesn't necessarily turn my crank to the point of lining up child care and making a two hour round-trip drive.

Never having been to a meeting before, will I miss anything really important by skipping this month's meeting and waiting until February (other than delaying by a month the opportunity to meet in person many of the fine folks that I've met here on Walleye Central :-) )?

besides the monthly speaker, there are any club updates that might be needing to be gone over. the 3 raffles and general meeting/greeting. supporting the club is important, but it's totally up to you to decide which meetings you can or can't make.
