My knowledge of tourneys is extremely limited, but here's my question to you guys fishing the Cleve tourney: How far will you run your boat to find fish? Can you run all the way to Sandusky or Ashtabula or to the Canadian side? Or are you limited to fishing a "ten mile zone" or something of the such.

scroll down to "Boundries"
The PWT uses boundries on all the waters they fish.

Wow! I am used to the Dunkirk torney where boundary to boundary east/west is like 25 miles...this one is 50 miles. Is this unusual or just trying to make sure they have enough water to find the migrating fish??

Pretty sure your second guess is correct Gilligan.

80 degrees 21 minutes is like telling me to drive until you run out of gas. I'll just guess it is about a 50 mile boundary as someone has mentioned.

If my counting is correct, the boundaries are 60 miles.....30 to the East and 30 to the West. The outer boundaries are the Canadian border. In theory, one could run about 60 miles one way to the very Northeast corner of the boundaries from Cleveland. This is not a straight line 60 miles but 30 to the Eastern boundary and then 30 out to the border. If the fish are there and they are tournament winning fish, someone or a group will do it. I would not hesitate to do this, given good water conditions and a solid weather report.

Basically it is from near Vermilion to near Fairport Harbor.

The east/west minutes (clicks) are not a full mile. Actually they are real close to 2/3rds of a mile. So 60 minutes is real close to 40 miles, which is still a lot of water, especially if it's rolling (which it will be at least one day).

Thanks for the clarification Jim. Hope to see you out there during the prefish and the tourney. Yes, that is still alot of water to cover.

Now those are boundaries I can immediately understand. As a kid, it was a half day trip out to the "crib" in a wooden Lyman with a 20hp motor from Gordon Park. Given those boundaries, with the boats you guys use today, there's gonna be some big weigh-ins. I hope you have a good turnout and nice weather.
