I will be moving to the Hampton/Poquoson area of Virginia in 2 years and I am an avid walleye fisherman (fish Lake Erie 4-5 times/year) in a Boston Whaler. While I am certainly looking forward to fishing some saltwater, I have noticed a lake not far from the above mentioned are, Western Branch Reservor that has walleyes, bass, and muskies.....reportedly. Is the fishing, especailly for walleyes, there, any good at all?

I know what the walleye fishing is like here in Indiana....almost a waste of time. We have one lake, (Brookville) that the DNR has extensively stocked with walleye and yet, because of the enormous amount of bait fish in the lake (shad), they are very, very hard to catch. I would appreciate any comments or advice on Western Branch Reservoir walleye fishing, or any other walleye fishing in Virginia.

Thanks,

I am from Ohio and also do the Erie thing. But sometimes my work takes me to VA. I don't know much about the lake that you are talking about but I Know that there are some in Lake Anna about 2 hrs south of D.C. I hope you find some, it can't be easy having to move away from one of the best Walleye Lakes in the country.
