Looks like I will get to the Cleveland show Friday. Looking for a deal on a Garmin 2010 mapping gps. Anyone seen any good deals at the show or got an idea who might have a good price?

West Marine was allowing 10% off if you used their credit card, but like you, I thought there should be a better deal :-) West Marine guy said they had been on sale there for 10% and then on top of that they were allowing 10% for their credit card, but sale was over --of course -- and he couldn't let me have one. He also said Garmin was going to add sonar to the 2010, but Garmin would not confirm that.

For goodness sakes don't go to West Marine or even to Boater's World for one. You might find a fairly good price at a boat show, but I doubt that you'll find the best price there.

Go look around and make sure that you try Landfall Navigation as one of the places you look. I am going to be buyint a 2006 next week and I found Landfall to have a price that was almost $200 less than West's price - and the price includes the Blue Chart of your choice!

Really look around - do a search on Google - and you can do well. I can tell you this though, I am really kicking myself for not buying mine last month. Up until the first of January GPS Planet had far and away the best deal I was able to find. Unfortunately they went back up to where most of the others are. Anyway save yourself a couple of hundred bucks and by on line - its a lot better than 10% off of a price that is 25% higher than you can find elsewhere.
