Just read a post on how good the Quest chargers are. I'm not having as good of luck with my first experience with a Quest charger. Here are the facts. Installed by the boat dealer on a new 2000 1900 Pro V IFS in Feb 2000. First unit broke July 2000. Boat dealer sent new one next day air no questions asked. Great customer service at no cost to me. Second unit failed Oct 2001. Called boat dealer and they called Quest and was told only a year warranty. Good news is they now have a 2 year warranty. Not good news to me if I have to fork out the money for a new one. Shouldn't they last longer than 15 months? Maybe I'm doing something wrong and they are a good charger. Charger is mounted in rear compartment with battery and oil tank. I do leave the lid up when it is charging. They work good when they are working.

First time it quit charging to one of the batterys up front. Second time the unit just quit working on all batterys.

I found that if they are mounted in such a manner that air cannot flow behind the unit they will not last long.

When you remount your new charge, put some 1/2 to 3/4 inch spacers on the bolts so cool air can get to the backside.

Just got off the phone with Sue D. Your right super person and great company to deal with. She told me to mail her the charger and she would get me a new one free of charge because of the problems I was having with 2 chargers. Said this was the Quest Co. policy. Since both chargers that failed had same production date there could have been a problem with that production line. She also told where I had it mounted shouldn't have caused the the units to fail.I can tell you Quest has gained my confidence and I will do anything for them to help them sell more units. Again great Co. and superior customer service which means more to me than price. Great job Sue D.

I will say this - I am planning to put an onboard, three bank charger on my boat this Spring (when she comes back home) and IT WILL BE A - GUEST!! Decision is a no-brainer largely because of SUE D. and the company she represents. Plus all the positive comments about the chargers I have seen here! No 'bout a doubt it!
