Found this out on the Web and thought it was very intersting. I have known Jimmy and his family for quite some time and I am sure it was a tough decision for him and his family. I am sure George and CPM are excited to have him on board. He is a class guy with the greatest of ethics and faith.

Yamaha Pro Jimmy Bell adds Ranger Boats and continues long-term relationship with Crystal Pierz Marine

Minneapolis, Minn., Jan. 5, 2005 — Yamaha fishing pro Jimmy Bell and his family, all of Ham Lake, Minn. have joined ranks with Ranger Boats and Crystal Pierz Marine to promote the boat brand and dealership. Bell, a long-time professional walleye angler with national recognition earned three national tournament titles, a professional rookie of the year title and a national angler of the year title. He has generated more than a quarter million dollars in tournament winnings, cashing checks in 40 of his last 47 professional events ranking him as one of the top walleye anglers in the country.

“My family and I are honored to be entering a long-term relationship with Ranger Boats and continuing with Crystal Pierz Marine. We had some tough choices to make when Crestliner was sold to Brunswick. Crestliner is a great organization, but our longevity has been with Yamaha Outboards. We believe that the product innovation and reliability that we are accustomed to having with Yamaha will fit perfectly with Ranger and Crystal Pierz Marine. Ranger has long been known as the pinnacle of boats and customer satisfaction and Crystal Pierz Marine is the undisputed leader in boat sales and service in the upper Midwest. My family and I are proud of our new relationship and we look forward to working closely with all parties.”

George Liddle Jr., Ranger’s Regional Sales Manager is just as excited about the new relationship as Bell. “Jimmy and his family, who are as enthusiastic about fishing as he is, bring just what we need to the table and they are a welcome addition to the Ranger family. Jimmy’s vast retail experience will be greatly appreciated as we are introducing our new 1850 Reata and future products. Jimmy has a great understanding of the industry at the consumer, professional angler, dealer and manufacturing levels. Being a family fisherman and professional walleye angler while dabbling in bass tournaments, allows us to leverage Jimmy’s experience and commitment to the sport.”

Crystal Pierz Marine has had a long-term relationship with Jimmy and his family and is excited to carry on and build that strong attachment. “Jimmy has worked closely with Crystal Pierz Marine since 1997 and we are proud to have him and his family as partners. He understands the value of a professional angler is not just in fishing tournaments. Jimmy’s value comes from his great understanding of the sport and his true passion of helping consumers make informed decisions. He is a true professional at the highest level and we are proud to have him continue working with us at Crystal Pierz Marine.”

I have no idea, but unless there is a press release, like the one above for Jimmy Bell, or Shannon himself posts here (highly unlikely) we don't want to spread any rumors about that.

There are a lot of people making moves this year, due to several reasons, so it will be real interesting to see who has done what with their sponsors come tourney season. ;-)

Congratulations again Jimmy.

I talked with Jimmy a week ago and found out. At first I was kind of shocked, but with Crystal Pierz involved I was not surprised. I know how hard Jimmy works for his sponsors and I also know how much Crystal Pierz gets from Jimmy. GOOD LUCK this year and I hope everything works out great for you and Ranger along with Crystal Pierz.

Gordy and Juls,
Thank you for the thoughts. My family and I are very excited to be back in a fiberglass boat and I can think of none better than Ranger. We all feel pretty blessed that we were able to put a gret program together for everyone. We were asked to come down to Ranger about a month ago and the girls and I flew down to Springfield and drove to Flippin from their. We spent time with Randy, Bart, George, Steve and a host of other people. We were also able to go through the plant and we were all very impressed. I now better understand what they mean when they talk about the Ranger Family.
We came home and our decision was pretty much made at that time. I was able to attend the Ranger National Dealer Meeting in Vegas so I was glad that I could get the girls involved in the decision and that they were able to meet so many wonderful people. We are pretty pumped up and I cannot think of a better dealership to be working with than Crystal-Pierz Marine.
We will be getting one of the new Z22 Bass boats with Yamaha's 300 VMAX and also a 621 with Yamaha's new 250 4-stroke. We have placed the orders and cannot wait to get them on the water.

Hope to See you all at the Sport Shows,
Jimmy Bell and Family
