Just curious, not antagonistic - Why would you want to use mono instead of fireline for pulling cranks or boards?
1000yd spools for $7.00. i'm cheap.

I have been using 14lb Sensithin (now Sensation) for 2 years now for all my board fishing and love it. The low-stretch definitely helps in hooking-especially with longer leads.
The 14lb is the same diameter as 10lb XT, so the dive curves in the Precision Trolling book stay the same. When fishing Erie and Saginaw Bay, I think the extra 4lb of breaking strength can be a huge help. The line also handles very nice on the reel and is easy to tie knots with. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

ct3, where is the line $7.00/1000yds? I also use sensithin and have been looking for the best place to stock up on a few sizes for this next season. Is this price for various sizes or just the 14#? Any help would be appreciated..RJ in Montana
thanks lance, gonna go buy some 14#. good luck fishing!!
hi RDJ, bad news. the line is on clearance at fleet farm stores, green bay wi. 4lb thru 17lb, lo-vis and clear. good luck fishing.

Do any of you use these lower stretch lines for jigging. I do a
lot in less than 15 foot of water. Just curious.

I've been using SensiThin for my jigging rods for several years. It is a nice in between line from regular mono to the super lines.

Sensithin is a discontiuned item. The new line to replace this is sensation. This line has less strech and less memory than most mono. It is also more sensitive than sensithin line. If yoou want the old sensithin line Cabela's is closing out the sensithin line. Go with the sensation line. You won't get the 1000 yd spool for $7 through. It cost about $14. If you saw the sensithin for $7 for a 1000 yd spool it is a close out of the old line.
jbob, you saying..stay away from this line? i can't find any kind of "born on date"on any line. tell me more.
