There's lot's of info coming out on the various walleye trails and it looks like a great year to be a big water fisherman!

For those of you that aren't tired of reading about them this is a reminder that the inaugural LEWT (Lake Erie Walleye Trail)will be on April 16th at Coastal Marine in Port Clinton. We've got a good payback of up to 90% in cash for 25% of the field, a low entry of $150 and 2 formats for 2 person and up to 6 man teams. We'll have lots of prizes for those that finish out of the money and food afterward!

Wiley Walleye of the famous Walleye drop is going to come see us and Mayor Brown is going to show and give an always enthusiastic presentation. We are suggesting that teams register early as fields are limited to 40 teams in each division and some teams have already signed up to fish both divisions. There are plenty of spots left but we expect the team side to fill before the tourney date. Don't get left out.

Read all about it here: http://www.walleyecentral.com/wbsa_schedule.shtml or here: http://www.wbsa.us/tournaments_april.html

Sounds like a reasonably priced, well organized tournament. Hopefully Erie will cooperate.

The LEWT is being organized by a Tournament Committee made up of experienced tourney anglers that know what needs done to make a circuit tick. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be a top notch circuit. I'm looking foward to it.

Would you pleae give us some more info?? How do we get here? Where is the ramp located. What are the times? This will be a fun time to fish the western basin and we should catch some big sows!

Well, most of the info is on the websites linked in the first post but here is some high light.

1. The marina is just west of the drawbridge in Port Clinton. There is a ramp at Coastal Marine that will have a $5 fee for the tournament boaters (normal is $14). There will be more than enough room for both dockers and trailered boats in the Marina. There is also a free State/County ramp (unless the parking fees go into effect by then) about a mile west of the marina with adequate parking.

2. Registration will start at 5 AM April 16th and inspections by 5:30AM. Take off will be at 7AM by boat number. There won't be a shotgun start and rules will be read as we caravan down the river. Tournament end time is 3 PM. Coffe and donuts will be donated by Boat US in the morning.

3. We didn't plan on having registration on the night before but have changed plans. Our Secretary will be at Coastal Marine Friday the 15th from 5-7PM to take registration to help smooth things out for Saturday morning. Preregistration is suggested as only 40 teams will be in each field. There are 13 teams signed up in the team event right now and most Erie regulars haven't signed yet. I expect we will have to turn teams away or put some in the open division if there is room there.

3. Yes, as always, if the weather cooperates we should see close to 50 pounds for 5 mostly spawned out fish.

Put me on the Spot! I don't know the coordinates and being brain dead at the moment can't figure a way to get them. I can give you some links to their address 537 W. Lakeshore Dr, Port Clinton, OH 43452 419-732-2165. I'll need help for the coordinates.
