Hello once again we are off with one of the earliest events of the Western Ohio Walleye Circuit's Team walleye year. The lake is completely free of ice. We have made arangments with AMY'S Bait n Tackle to be opened by 5:30 and they assured us they'll be open at 5am. This is the place for bait. They will try to get their hands on some shiners and chubs for you larger bait anglers. They are located across from the north ramp on the curve or rt.79. For those who stopped down the street in the past for a Burger King breakfast, I'm sorry to say they are no longer open. Other than that we are still launching from Liebs ramp on the Southwest side and taking off at 7AM. Weigh-in is at 3PM and spectators are welcome. There will be a camera boat out there filming for the end of the year DVD so don't miss it. This is an 80/20 event with plaques and prizes for those who finish just out of the money. There is over $1500 in cash and prizes going to the overall season winners. AND MUCH MUCH MORE...For more info e-mail walleyeclark1@aol.com

**OPENER IS IN REFERENCE TO THE FIRST EVENT OF THE SEASON. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE WOWC TO FISH THE TOURNAMENT. YOU MAY JOIN AND ENTER AT THE RAMP THE MORNING OF THE TOURNAMENT.

the WOWC member flyer will be in the snail-mail shortly or contact a member that fished the tourney would be the best/quickest bet.

It was a cold, windy, and wet day. 19 boats braved the elements. Tom Defiebaugh and Mike Defienbaugh won with 6.84lbs. They also had big fish 5.88lbs caught on a vibe lure. Secound place went to Dave Johnson and Jason Walls 4.48lbs, caught over bye the old spillway. Tony Christ and Ray Smock took thrid with 3.78. Gerry Myers and Dave McCabe tied Mark Brumbaugh and Scott Stecher for fourth place. They both had 3.04lbs. They both were trolling rip shads on the side of the tow path. Ken Bailey and Gary Maynard took 6th with 1.1lbs, and Bill Sadowski and Mark Blasczyk tied Dan Johnson and Fred Lohman for seventh place with .96lbs. We had a smaller turn out than expected because of bad weather. Thank You John Clark

I heard there were a lot of boats prefishing the day before that decided not to get in because of a poor bite. Too bad people often don't understand that if the bite is bad for them it is usually bad for everyone, but if they chicken out they can't find out how good they would have done.

I'm sure you will have a much better turnout at the next one.
