I have a few Pinnacle reels from 3/4 years ago and the drag is slipping on them along with the anti reverse mechanism. Anyone know a cure for this or someone that can fix them? I like the reels but I dont want to have to buy replacements for them. Thanks.

I have had the Pinnacle reels in the past, and really like them. I didn't have them as long as you have, but would figure they are due for a really good cleaning. Check out your local bait and tackle shop, they can clean them,or will know of someone that does it. The old grease and just the everyday use of the reels will cause the drag and anti-reverse to start slipping. I clean and lube all of my reels every winter....I take care of them, they take care of me.....a fair trade I think.

Or you might end up in the same boat as a lot of other pinnacle owners.
I bought the deadbolt limited 3 or 4 years ago,it was the best reel I had used. It was flawless for the first year, maybe 250 hours. But after that I had the same problems that you are describing. I took it apart cleaned it, but still no fix.
Start talking with a few others and I was not alone. One friend who had the deadbolt had his completely stop working while bringing in a fish, drag screwed up so bad it wouldn't reel in with any pressure on the line.
I still have mine but it is in the bottom of the tacklebox as an expensive emergency spare. I really hope you have better luck!!

I've got 8 Deadbolts all around 4+ years old. The only time I've had a problem was in extreme cold and the antireverse wouldn't work. This was because the grease was to stiff to allow them to function correctly. I clean them every year prior to spring fishing. I would take TBO's advice and have them cleaned and examined by a reel repair person. I feel most high end reels can be repaired to a "new" like performance. Bass Pro's has an excellent reel repair facility, but you should check in your area for a recommended repair person. Or check out this site. www.silstar.com/PAGES/authparts.html
