View Full Version : GNWC TV?
GNWC Question

What happened to the GNWC TV program? I thought one of the big pushes with these events waas regular TV coverage. Checked out their site and saw nothing about a TV show.
I also heard a rumor that one of the reason GM cancelled their agreement with the GNWC was because of no TV.

Gander Mt. is or was in dire financial straights. Of their own doing.
It had nothing to do with the GNWC events.
I suspect they backed out more because they couldn't uphold their side of the Agreement and didn't want to face any more embarrassment that they already are suffering from their IPO deal.

As far as I have read, Gander is in court on numerous issues connected with their IPO. Do a google search and you can find plenty of info...
There are no longer any detailed accounts of the matter on the GNWC website... I suspect because the lawyers are involved. So, my next comment is strictly an opinion based on previous posting from various sources. I believe that the TV was to be underwritten by Gander Mountain. When Gander pulled out/defaulted/didn't pay (whatever terminology applies, I don't know, exactly) the GNWC halted production... no sponsor no show...just like NBC.
It has been stated by several sources that Gander Mountain pulled out of all or most of their tournament sponsorship commitments. So, I think the GNWC was just one of many that are no longer associated with Gander Mountain.
Again, I am not any sort of official spokeman for the GNWC or Gander Mountain. I just don't like to see rumors grow.. So, if I have what I believe to be fairly accurate facts (all in my opinion, only) and they will answer a valid question before rumors start again, I will share what I believe to be those facts.
I am sure if we all stay tuned something more will be said later... since its all destined for court... probably years later...

I've now heard it both ways. I'm not going to repeat rumors, but I'm curious to see the outcome. All this negative publicity is no good for anyone.

Dutchboy... How dare you... If my mother found out that even one person thought I was a lawyer... I might get thrown out of the family... I once was seen consorting in public (drinking an adult beverage in the daytime) with accountants and my mother banned me from the Thanksgiving table for three years...
